Need more sh-leep? Whoopi Goldberg shows her eccentric side as she sports farm animal slippers to leave daytime TV show

Eccentric: Whoopi Goldberg leaves ABC Studios after filming The View, wearing her sheep slippers

Last week she was forced to clarify that she did not pass wind on air for The View.
And it was safe to say that Whoopi Goldberg was still taking her co-hosting daytime TV role seriously when she left the filming in her novelty slippers on Tuesday.

Whoopi, 59, sported a pair of pink and white comfy sheep on her feet while shrouding her shape in a long black coat and a beanie hat to head home.

The footwear was a strange choice, considering the Sister Act star's otherwise conservative all-black outfit chosen to make the late afternoon exit.

But it wasn't just the fluffy slippers that were keeping the eccentric star cosy in New York City, as she happened to layer on a pair of equally eye-catching patterned socks.
Whoopi made strides in lycra leggings rolled down over her socks and just peeping beneath her long button-down coat.

Done for the day: Whoopi drew attention to her pink and white slippers with an altogether conservative black ensemble

It's not the first time that the comedienne's wardrobe choices have raised an eyebrow considering her recent penchant for Christmas jumper-wearing and her ongoing love affair with beanie hats.

Whoopi, who is also a moderator on The View television series where she is among three co-hosts, was forced to address an incident in which she appeared to pass wind on the show on last Thursday.
Speaking after the ABC show, Whoopi explained: 'There was a sound effect that we had never heard before.
'I'm thinking, "Damn, that's weird, what can I do?" Oh, I know! I'm gonna pretend I let a little something go. As a joke.'
The comedienne added: 'I know you think that I don't [make jokes] any more, I do, I make funnies. I don't fart on-air for real!'
My So-Called Life alum Claire Danes was on the receiving end of the so-called joke in 2011 as a guest.
Sharing the View couch with Whoopi, claimed to 'let a frog out' next to her horrified co-host.
In an interview with Andy Cohen last year, she re-visited the origin of her name.
Saying 'I’m a farter. You know, when you work in the theater sometimes, you do quick changes and you’re running around and, sometimes you’re just letting go.'
